Basketball Game Preview: Ascension Catholic Bulldogs vs. Ascension Christian

Ascension Catholic and Ascension Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Ascension Catholic Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against Ascension Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ascension Catholic is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Ascension Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over East Iberville, taking the game 60-53.

Meanwhile, Ascension Christian came into Tuesday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 50-43 victory over St. John on Tuesday.

Ascension Catholic is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Ascension Christian, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-17.

Everything came up roses for Ascension Catholic against Ascension Christian in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 50-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ascension Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
