Basketball Game Preview: Trimble Tech Bulldogs vs. Polytechnic Parrots

Trimble Tech is on a seven-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, Polytechnic a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Trimble Tech Bulldogs will welcome the Polytechnic Parrots at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Trimble Tech took a blow against Paschal, falling 65-7. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1412th, while the Panthers are ranked 638th).

Meanwhile, Polytechnic ended up a good deal behind South Hills on Friday and lost 42-28.

Despite the defeat, Polytechnic saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cecilia Aguilar went 5 of 10 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. Aguilar is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Even though they lost, Polytechnic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive matches.

Trimble Tech's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Trimble Tech strolled past Polytechnic when the teams last played back in February by a score of 40-23. Does Trimble Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Polytechnic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
