Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Big Foot

Big Foot and Edgerton pushed the score to 14-8 the last time they played Edgerton, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Chiefs never let the Crimson Tide get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Chiefs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Connor Weeks, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Edgerton off the board. Weeks also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Big Foot is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Big Foot's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Josh Martinez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Big Foot and bumps their season record up to 7-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Edgerton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Big Foot will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Crimson Tide: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
