Basketball Recap: Central of Coosa County Comes Up Short

Central of Coosa County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Reeltown Rebels. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 42-26.

Despite the defeat, Central of Coosa County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Queen Ballard dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. Ballard has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 22 times she's played.

Central of Coosa County's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Reeltown, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Central of Coosa County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Reeltown, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Holtville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
