Basketball Recap: Douglas Takes a Loss

After flying high against Galena on Monday, Douglas came back down to earth. The Douglas Tigers fell to the Spanish Springs Cougars 62-57. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Cougars are ranked fifth).

Douglas has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Spanish Springs, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Spanish Springs beat Douglas by a score of 62-57 on Wednesday.
