Volleyball Recap: Bailey Posey and Emily Tran Secure Win for Saugus

Saugus posted their closest victory since August 15th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Crescenta Valley Falcons. The Centurions haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Saugus was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-15, 20-25, 25-19, 15-13.

Leading Saugus to victory were Emily Tran and Bailey Posey. Tran had 17 digs and three assists, while Posey had 13 assists and six digs. Those 17 digs gave Tran a new career-high.

Saugus was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in nine consecutive matches.

Saugus' win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Crescenta Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Saugus and Crescenta Valley will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Centurions will challenge rival Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crescenta Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Hoover at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
