Basketball Recap: Rockland Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Rockland waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Hagerman Pirates by a score of 54-44. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

When it comes to explaining why Hagerman lost, don't look at Ky Kendall. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Hagerman is 6-1 when Kendall posts eight or more rebounds, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Mavencamp, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Rockland's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points over those games. As for Hagerman, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Rockland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hagerman, they will venture away from home to take on Hansen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hagerman is facing Hansen at the right time seeing as Hansen is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
