Baseball Recap: Peoria Notre Dame Takes a Loss

Peoria Notre Dame lost against Bloomington on April 7th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Irish fell just short of the Purple Raiders by a score of 5-4. The Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Peoria Notre Dame got a good showing from Anthony LeFante, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. LeFante has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Kenny was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Peoria Notre Dame now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Bloomington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peoria Notre Dame will take on Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bloomington, they will square off against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Raiders are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
