Volleyball Recap: Scripps Ranch Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Scripps Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pilots earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Scripps Ranch took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-16, 18-16.

Amanda Guzman went supernova For Academy of Our Lady of Peace., getting 20 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Guzman a new career-high in assists (four).

Scripps Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 19-13. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8.

Scripps Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Coronado on the 17th. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, they will head out to take on Cathedral Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
