Softball Recap: Minnechaug Regional Gets the Win

While Minnechaug Regional's victory against Longmeadow wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lancers 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since May 20, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Veronica Ouimet, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Dionne, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The win got Minnechaug Regional back to even at 4-4. As for Longmeadow, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Minnechaug Regional will welcome South Hadley at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (the Falcons have three straight victories, the Tigers have three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field. As for Longmeadow, they will venture away from home to challenge East Longmeadow at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
