Softball Game Preview: Davenport Gorillas vs. Reardan Screaming Eagles

Davenport is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will square off against the Reardan Screaming Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Davenport is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season last Friday. They lost 25-17 to Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna. That's two games in a row now that the Gorillas have lost by exactly eight runs.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Reardan was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They came up short against Colfax, falling 25-1. The Screaming Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Reardan's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Davenport, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Davenport couldn't quite get it done against Reardan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 23-20. Can Davenport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
