Basketball Recap: Loris Piles Up the Points Against Georgetown

Loris had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Georgetown Bulldogs, posting a 61-25 victory. With that win, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loris to victory, but perhaps none more so than Janiya Richburg, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Richburg has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 13 times she's played. Mari'Asia Moody was another key player, putting up 11 points along with eight assists and eight steals.

Loris smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Loris' record now sits at 14-7. As for Georgetown, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Loris wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-11 victory against Marlboro County on the 7th. As for Georgetown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-37 defeat against Aynor on the 5th.
