Softball Recap: Marlboro's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Marlboro waltzed into their match on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2016.

Alyssa Abadiotakis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Ashlee Chen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Marlboro's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Rumson-Fair Haven, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, Marlboro will head out to face off against Middletown North at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.6, the Lions 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Rumson-Fair Haven, they will challenge Shore Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
