Softball Recap: Edinburg North Cougars vs. Weslaco Panthers
After flying high against Raymondville last Saturday, Edinburg North came back down to earth. The Edinburg North Cougars took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weslaco Panthers on Tuesday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.
Destany Bermudez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Edinburg North saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Guerra, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
