Football Game Preview: South Hardin Tigers vs. Central Springs Panthers

South Hardin is a perfect 3-0 against Central Springs since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tigers will square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Central Springs took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on South Hardin, who comes in off a win.

South Hardin's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS to the tune of 29-0. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Kameron Adams, who rushed for 168 yards and three TDs. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 156 rushing yards.

South Hardin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sawyer Kane and Casey Williamson.

Meanwhile, Central Springs fell victim to Grundy Center and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Spartans are ranked 12th).

South Hardin's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.6 points over those games. As for Central Springs, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything went South Hardin's way against Central Springs in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, as South Hardin made off with a 46-21 victory. In that game, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 39-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
