Baseball Game Preview: Richland Rams vs. Bishop McCort Crushers

The Richland Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Bishop McCort Crushers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Richland came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss two weeks ago. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Penn Cambria by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since April 25, 2024.

Richland saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finnegan Bradley, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Kaden Korenoski also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop McCort). Everything went their way against Homer-Center on Monday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Crushers have beaten the Wildcats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Bishop McCort pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Richland, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Richland beat Bishop McCort 9-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
