Basketball Game Recap: Massac County Patriots vs. Hardin County Cougars

Massac County won the last time they faced Hardin County, and Grady Bormann did his part to make sure it happened again. The Massac County Patriots claimed a resounding 73-42 win over the Hardin County Cougars thanks in part to Bormann, who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Massac County's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 2-1 (and 9-11 when he doesn't).

Another player making a difference was Jude Harmon, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 15 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Despite the loss, Hardin County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bryden Banks went 7-for-16 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds. Banks continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Landon Fricker was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 13 points.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 11-12. As for Hardin County, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Massac County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-41 defeat against Harrisburg on the 7th. As for Hardin County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 77-62 win against Johnston City on the 8th.
