Softball Preview: Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains vs. Calvert Senecas

Hopewell-Loudon is 7-0 against Calvert since April of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains will be playing at home against the Calvert Senecas at 5:00 p.m. Hopewell-Loudon will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.

In what's become a running theme this season, Hopewell-Loudon gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They blew past St. Joseph Central Catholic 11-1.

Isabelle Beidelschies was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Beidelschies has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive pitching appearances. Beidelschies was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

In other batting news, Sidney Brickner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddie Holcomb, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Calvert scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Monday. Everything went their way against Arlington as Calvert made off with a 19-9 victory. The win was familiar territory for Calvert who now have three in a row.

Hopewell-Loudon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Calvert, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.
