Camden took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Holland Patent, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Golden Knights on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Golden Knights last Wednesday, they had to take a 7-1 loss.

Andrew Joyce spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Gavyn Hatzinger was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Dylan Bush was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Camden now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Holland Patent, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Camden will challenge Lowville at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Holland Patent, they will venture away from home to challenge Oneida at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
