Recap: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears vs. Bloomfield Bees
The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears won the last time they faced the Bloomfield Bees, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge strolled past Bloomfield with points to spare, taking the game 55-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
It was another big night for Gibson Roberts, who scored 28 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Olson, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Layne Warrior. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The game was Warrior's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Mackeprang, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Bloomfield struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Bloomfield, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and Pender will round out the year against one another at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th at. Pender will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Bloomfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hartington-Newcastle at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
