Softball Recap: Carolina Academy Bobcats vs. Dorchester Academy Raiders
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Carolina Academy walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dorchester Academy Raiders on Tuesday, sneaking past 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Bobcats as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Raeley Frye was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Paisley Coker and Natalie Braveboy did most of the damage at the plate: Coker got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Braveboy went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
