Basketball Recap: Hutchinson's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of six wins, Hutchinson's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 54-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Andover Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Salthawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Trojans are ranked ninth).

Andover's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aliyah Green led the charge by dropping a double-double with 13 points and 17 boards. Green is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 46% in the last 11 games she's played. Asiah Sullivan was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points and six assists.

Hutchinson's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Andover, their victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1.

Hutchinson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-35 win against South on the 28th. Andover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
