Basketball Recap: Boys Latin Takes a Loss

Boys Latin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the McDonogh Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lakers of the 58-55 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDonogh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bj Hopkins, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Hopkins a new career-high. Jeff Exinor was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Boys Latin's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for McDonogh, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Boys Latin has already played their next match (against Redemption Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McDonogh has already played their next game, a 74-54 win against La Plata on the 29th.
