Basketball Recap: Angelie Salogar's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Avon over Perry

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 43-31 to the Perry Yellowjackets. The Braves were not able to make up for their loss to the Yellowjackets from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Avon lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Angelie Salogar, who posted seven points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Maria Geary, who earned eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Perry, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Avon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-29 loss against Geneseo on the 7th. As for Perry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-42 defeat against Letchworth on the 7th.
