Basketball Recap: Barnum Bombers vs. Cromwell Cardinals
Barnum came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Cromwell Cardinals, falling 77-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bombers have suffered since February 22, 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cromwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryanna Foster, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 17 points along with six boards and six steals. What's more, Foster also posted a 78% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Isabella Anderson was another key player, going 9-for-14 en route to 21 points and four steals.
Barnum's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Cromwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.
Coming up, Barnum is taking a road trip to take on Braham at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Braham knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Barnum likes a good challenge. As for Cromwell, they will welcome Proctor at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Cromwell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.4 points per game this season.
