Baseball Game Preview: Horizon Huskies vs. Mountain Pointe Pride

The Horizon Huskies will square off against the Mountain Pointe Pride at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Horizon didn't have quite enough to beat Basha and fell 5-4.

Horizon got a good showing from Jack Bolton, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Bolton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kanon Faseler made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Mountain Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to Gilbert.

Mountain Pointe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Teague McCarthy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Mountain Pointe's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Horizon came out on top in a nail-biter against Mountain Pointe in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pride turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
