Softball Game Preview: Jasper Eagles vs. Lamar Tigers

The Jasper Eagles will head out to challenge the Lamar Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Jasper put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Osceola as Jasper made off with a 20-9 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jasper got a massive performance out of Crystal Smith, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivea Roberts, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, while Lamar put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Adrian. Lamar blew past Adrian 10-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

The win got Lamar back to even at 2-2. As for Jasper, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Jasper might still be hurting after the 16-2 defeat they got from Lamar in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Jasper avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
