Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Greene Thunderbirds vs. Monrovia Bulldogs

The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Monrovia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monrovia took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Eastern Greene, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, Eastern Greene earned a 43-36 win over Vincennes Rivet. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbirds.

Meanwhile, Monrovia came up short against Martinsville on Saturday and fell 63-53.

Monrovia has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Eastern Greene, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

Eastern Greene was taken down by Monrovia 60-31 in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Thankfully for Eastern Greene, Josh Smith (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
