Basketball Recap: Seyi Daramola's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Whitewater over Lagrange

Whitewater was the 58-51 winner over LaGrange when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Whitewater Wildcats opened the new year with a less-than-successful 54-47 loss to the LaGrange Grangers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Seyi Daramola, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Daramola has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Allan Mangual, who posted three points in addition to 19 rebounds and three steals.

Whitewater's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for LaGrange, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Trinity Christian the next time they take the court. LaGrange will head out to face Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Whitewater will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
