Basketball Recap: Chattahoochee County Piles Up the Points Against Glenwood + How To Watch

Chattahoochee County barely beat Glenwood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 98-65 victory over the Gators. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

It was another big night for Curtis (Champ ) Simpson, who went 11-for-17 en route to 36 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was A'Nyzhon (Bam) Purnell, who posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and seven steals.

Chattahoochee County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Despite the loss, Glenwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braylen Alexander shot 58% from the field on his way to 28 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 43.1% of the Gators' points, marking the third time in a row Alexander has had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Carter, who earned nine points and seven boards.

Chattahoochee County's record is now 3-1. As for Glenwood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Chattahoochee County will head out to take on Brookstone at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Glenwood, they have already played their next game, a 66-54 loss against Deerfield-Windsor on the 4th.
