Baseball Game Preview: Auburn Tigers vs. Central Red Devils + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Auburn will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Central Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Auburn's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Auburn fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Saraland on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lawson Hare made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Antwane Daniels, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They put the hurt on Glenwood with a sharp 14-8 win on Saturday. The Red Devils not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th (when they won 10-0).

The victory made it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 14-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Auburn, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9.

Auburn couldn't quite finish off Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 12-10. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
