Volleyball Recap: Norton Science & Language Academy Comes Up Short

Norton Science & Language Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Calvary Baptist Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-7, 25-13.

Norton Science & Language Academy's offense was headlined by Ahlai Calderon and Lluvia Rodriguez, who picked up two kills apiece. Rodriguez also shared the team's lead in assists with Leana Chan: they picked up two each.

Aubrey Gelskey had an outrageously good game for Calvary Baptist as she had seven aces and six digs. What's more, Gelskey posted five assists, the most she's had since back in September of 2024.

Norton Science & Language Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Calvary Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.

Norton Science & Language Academy has already played their next contest (against Cornerstone Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Calvary Baptist, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against The Grove School on the 25th.
