Softball Recap: Hackett Catholic Prep's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Hackett Catholic Prep finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They came up short against the Kalamazoo Christian Comets, falling 16-1. The Fighting Irish haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Hackett Catholic Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Doerr, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hackett Catholic Prep fell to 4-1. As for Kalamazoo Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Comets beat Hackett Catholic Prep by a score of 13-1 later that day.
