There's no place like home for Port St. Joe, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the Blountstown Tigers 12-6 on Tuesday. Considering the Tiger Sharks have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brooklyn Bishop and Christina Clayton were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Bishop struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Meanwhile, Clayton struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. At the plate, Bishop scored two runs while going 1-for-4, while Clayton scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Port St. Joe got a massive performance out of Addy Silcox, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Silcox also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Elli Newman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Port St. Joe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Port St. Joe pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Blountstown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port St. Joe will square off against Marianna at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Port St. Joe is facing Marianna at the right time seeing as Marianna is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Blountstown will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Holmes County at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th.
