Baseball Game Preview: Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys vs. Hallettsville Brahmas

The Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys will challenge the Hallettsville Brahmas on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Falfurrias sitting on four straight wins and Hallettsville on 20.

Falfurrias is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They beat Bishop by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-3.

Nathaniel Jaramillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Derek Vasquez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Ozuna, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hallettsville got themselves on the board against Marion on Friday, but Marion never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Brahmas, who have now won 20 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Falfurrias pushed their record up to 24-10-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Hallettsville, their win bumped their record up to 28-3.
