Tyler Pettigrew of Henley (Klamath Falls, Ore.) proved he wanted a state championship Saturday.

In the fifth inning of a tied Oregon Class 4A state title game against Estacada, the junior sprinted across right field for a foul fly ball. Pettigrew laid out with a full extension and slid into the wall. When the dust settled, Pettigrew hoisted the ball as the crowd cheered in amazement.

Pettigrew was a little woozy, but it was worth the effort. The pivotal catch helped Henley defeat Estacada 3-2 and nab its third state title in four years.
