Softball Recap: Lewis County Extends Winning Streak to Six

Lewis County put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Riverside get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The seven-run effort marked Lewis County's lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Brailey Carroll's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Clara Tanner was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taya Tiller, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2.

Lewis County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Lewis County's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lewis County Panthers take on Santa Fe Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverside, they will venture away from home to square off against Perry County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
