Basketball Game Preview: Allen Mustangs vs. Latta Panthers

Allen is on a 18-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Latta is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Allen Mustangs will host the Latta Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Allen against Tupelo as the team secured a 75-14 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Tigers are ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Latta made easy work of Byng on Saturday and carried off a 49-23 win.

Allen has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points per game. As for Latta, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.
