Baseball Recap: St. Clair Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

St. Clair came into Tuesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Cuba Wildcats on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Kaden Calhoun looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Clayton Ingram, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bo Robbins, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

St. Clair kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win got St. Clair back to even at 5-5. As for Cuba, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Clair will head out to face off against Sullivan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cuba, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hermann at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
