Soccer Recap: Webster City Comes Up Short

Webster City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clear Lake Lions. If Webster City were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to Clear Lake when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Webster City's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Clear Lake, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Webster City will head out on the road to face off against Garner-Hayfield/Ventura at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clear Lake, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against New Hampton on the 4th.
