Basketball Recap: Churchland Takes a Loss

Churchland has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 72-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norview Pilots on Friday. The Truckers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pilots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keon Mitchell, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 24 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquise Jones Jr, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Churchland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Norview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Churchland has already played their next match, a 68-57 victory against Northampton on the 18th. As for Norview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-55 win against Kempsville on the 18th.
