Softball Recap: North Valleys Panthers vs. Truckee Wolverines

North Valleys put the finishing touches on their 15th blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They beat the Truckee Wolverines by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. The victory was familiar territory for North Valleys who now have ten in a row.

Brittney Byram made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Byram was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lillian Lafontaine and Staci Davis did most of the damage at the plate: Lafontaine went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Davis went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and a double. Another player making a difference was Karli Klein, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, a stolen base, and a double.

On Truckee's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucia Sherman, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

North Valleys' win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. As for Truckee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
