Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Bell Griffins
After two games on the road, Roosevelt is heading back home. They will take on the Bell Griffins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday.
Roosevelt scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They blew past Woodson, posting a 56-29 victory on the road. That 56-29 margin sets a new team best for Roosevelt this season.
Roosevelt got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lamar'sha Wilson out in front who scored 18 points along with seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least 25% of Roosevelt's points. Simmons Taniesha was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 44-17, which was the final score in Bell's tilt against McKinley Tech on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bell in their matchups with McKinley Tech: they've now lost five in a row.
The victory got Roosevelt back to even at 2-2. As for Bell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Roosevelt's way against Bell in their previous meeting back in February as Roosevelt made off with a 47-21 victory. Does Roosevelt have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
