Softball Game Preview: Ball Tornadoes vs. Friendswood Mustangs

Ball hasn't had much luck against Friendswood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Ball is taking a road trip to square off against Friendswood at 6:30 p.m. Ball has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ball came up short against Episcopal on Saturday, falling 13-3. The Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ball saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Selina Scott, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs. Those two runs gave Scott a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Friendswood's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Angleton by a score of 5-4.

Ball's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Friendswood, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 18-2.

Ball couldn't quite get it done against Friendswood in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can Ball avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
