Softball Recap: Silver Valley Comes Up Short

Silver Valley extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-13. They came up short against the Big Bear Bears, falling 24-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bears this season, with their most recent defeat being a 27-0 loss on Tuesday.

Danika Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

As for Big Bear, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1. Considering they have won 21 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Big Bear's side, Abigail Hendricks was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Hendricks a new career-high. Jorden Acosta was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one double.

Coming up, Silver Valley will face off against Lucerne Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Big Bear, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 4-2 win against San Bernardino on the 2nd.
