Football Recap: Wilson Skates Past Maywood Academy with Ease

While Wilson put up plenty of points on Monday, the same can't be said for Maywood Academy. The Mules simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Nighthawks 62-0. The Mules' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Wilson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reyna Racancoj out in front who rushed for 148 yards and three scores on only five carries. Nancy Altamirano also helped with two TDs in total.

Wilson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. It was a group effort, with five picking up one apiece. Altamirano got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Wilson's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Wilson will take on Garfield at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maywood Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Huntington Park at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th.
