Baseball Preview: Holmes Bulldogs vs. Ludlow Panthers
Holmes is 1-9 against Ludlow since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Holmes will be strutting in after a victory while Ludlow will be coming in after a loss.
Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Holmes turned things around against Heritage Academy on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Eagles. The Bulldogs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16th (when they won 12-2).
Meanwhile, Ludlow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 9-3 to Dixie Heights. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Ludlow saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miller Reed, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Jackson Mays was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-18. As for Ludlow, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.
