Basketball Game Preview: Doddridge County Bulldogs vs. Williamstown Yellowjackets

The Doddridge County Bulldogs will face off against the Williamstown Yellowjackets at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Doddridge County sitting on three straight wins and Williamstown on 11.

Doddridge County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with an 83-76 victory over Tygarts Valley on Tuesday.

Doddridge County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heston Hayes, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 17 points. What's more, Hayes also posted a 78% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landon Thomas, who went 6-for-11 en route to 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, Williamstown faced Logan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Williamstown pulled ahead with a 70-69 photo finish over Logan.

Williamstown pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points over those games. As for Doddridge County, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.
