Basketball Recap: CJ Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sunnyside over San Joaquin Memorial

It was a proper cat-fight when Sunnyside took on San Joaquin Memorial on Wednesday. The Sunnyside Wildcats lost 78-57 to the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Sunnyside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was CJ Jones, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Barnes, who scored 19 points.

Sunnyside's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for San Joaquin Memorial, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Sunnyside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-60 win against Hoover on the 31st. San Joaquin Memorial has also already played their next game, a 62-57 victory against Bullard on the 31st.
