Softball Recap: Mesquite Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mesquite waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Lancaster Tigers with a sharp 13-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-0 back in March.

Mesquite pushed their record up to 17-12-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Lancaster, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season.

Mesquite and Lancaster could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Skeeters will take on Duncanville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (616 vs. 114). Meanwhile, Lancaster (ranked 789th) will meet Waxahachie (ranked 151st) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
